Questions about translations for New Zealand

Are NAATI certified translations accepted in New Zealand?

It depends on the receiving authority. For Immigration New Zealand, a translation must meet the rules for your visa and document type. A NAATI credential helps demonstrate the translator’s qualifications. For overseas driving licences, follow the separate NZTA list and rules.

Do I need a certified translation for a New Zealand visitor visa?

Immigration New Zealand requires full English translations of supporting documents that are not in English. Most visitor visa supporting documents do not need certification. Medical and police certificates still need certified English translations.

Can you translate a Russian or Belarusian police certificate?

Send a clear copy of every page, including stamps and any record of no convictions. Tell Steve the visa type and the receiving authority so he can confirm the required format.

Can I order from Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch?

Yes. Belozi handles enquiries online from Sydney. Send scans through the form and receive the translation by email in the agreed format.

Can I use this service to convert my driver licence in New Zealand?

For driving or licence conversion, use a translation source accepted by NZTA. Check the official list in the requirements table before ordering.

What should I send for a translation quote?

Send all pages as clear scans or photos. State the New Zealand authority or institution, the purpose, the deadline and the spelling of names shown in your passport.
